Anotace, referát	The present invention relates to a method of grinding rolls of roller stands, which method comprises selection of a grinding wheel, mounting thereof on a roll grinding machine and its rotation followed up with bringing a grinding surface of the grinding wheel into contact with a rotating roll to be ground i.e. with rotary cylindrical surface of the roll, transverse feed of the grinding wheel across the roll surface at maintaining an uninterrupted contact of the grinding wheel with the roll surface and grinding the roll surface to a surface grade value within 10 to 50 Ra at leaving the roll surface substantially without lines of feed, traces of vibration and superficial irregularities, whereby the selected grinding wheel must contain 22 to 40 percent by volume abrasive grains and 36 to 54 percent by volume porosity bonded in an organic resinous binding agent, and must have the elastic modulus maximum value 12 Gpa and minimum burst speed of 60000 sfpm, which reveals itself by resistance to vibration. The grinding operations are thus carried out with a high efficiency at controlled vibration of the grinding wheel to thereby creating optimum quality of the ground roller surface. cze
